Prooftext for equality: 2 Corinthians 8:11-14

For there to be a theology, there must be a prooftext--the text on which the theology hangs.  Gay liberation theology has not taken off the way it should because the anti-homosexuality "religious" have promoted the inaccurate notion that Lev 18:22 and 20:13 prohibit homosexuality.  The texts to not prohibit homosexuality.

However, if the marriage equality movement needs a prooftext, this is it:

2 Corinthians 8:11-14

Complete the doing, so that even as there was readiness of being willing, there is also completing.  If readiness is present, what he might have is acceptable, not what he does not have.  Not ease to others, to you affliction, but of equality.  At the present time, your abundance for their need, so that their abundance might be for this of you, so there should be equality.
